V1.2: rebalanced the samurai edge too, now it has 250 power and 0.25 fire rate. Previously damage was 6100 but as deathowesmesouls pointed out, for some reason Wolfsbane always deal double damage, so I trimmed it down. It still deals double damage vs Lycan so it's kinda insane in that regard. The goal was to make this weapon powerful but still manteining it's weaknesses of low ammo capacity and slow fire rate. Damage now goes up to 3000 (3200 with the barrel) while capacity and fire rate stays the same. M1851 Wolfsbane: my favourite weapon in the game, a great looking piece of art.
But I didn't want to nerf the handcannon 'cause on higher difficulties is really a life saver, so I just buffed the sniper rifle a little bit but still, it can't really compete. Handcannon sets the bar too high for sniper ammo, also in this game a sniper rifle is 90% of the times really unpractical. I don't think it is possible to balance this weapon without making it game breaking or without nerfing the handcannon. Reload speed is still a massive issue at higher levels, but as long as you have ammo in yout magazine they are going to perform great. To compensate this I increased their damage but also their fire rate. W870 TAC: fire rate increased to 1.3 and damage goes up to 2000.īoth these weapons were kinda terrible, with crap stats and painful reload speed. M1897: fire rate increased to 1.4 and damage goes up to 2200. M1911 was far worse than the VZ61 but also much better than Lemi, so I think that a power of 320 (middle of the way between 275 and 370) makes it good enough to compete with the VZ61 but not too good to outshine the Lemi.
Lemi was the weakest pistol in the game, absolutely unusable even know it's good but not great with it's lower fire rate and the fact it's the only handgun with a "semiauto firing mode". Lemi: power goes up to 340 (370 with the accessory). This is why I made this mod.įor most weapons I decided to chance only the last upgrades (making them way more expensive to match the cost of the "best weapons") 'cause I didn't want to make the first playthrough unbalanced. I know that RE8 is way different from RE4 (where each weapons is good) and that it is more about grinding in order to get to the ultimate weapon's set more than having different good weapons to choose from, but when you play the game a lot, you may get tired of using the same weapons over and over again.
